Abstract
525,437. Rotary drying drums. HAAS, H. Feb. 21, 1939, Nos. 5718 and 5719. Convention dates, April 30, 1938 and Oct. 17, 1938. [Class 34 (ii)] Rags and textiles are dried in a rotary reticulated drum a through which the goods are passed with a casing in which a battery of fans d is longitudinally arranged in cells or compartments, the shaft of the fans being parallel to the drum so that air is blown down through the drum and is drawn up under a partition k to the fans over the whole length of the drum. Below an air heater g is a previous endless band e forming a dust and fibre filter, which is cleaned outside the casing by a brush f. In place of the band e, a series of filter frames may be slowly pushed through the casing. Other dust is collected at A or removed through openings at the side of the fan cells.
