Abstract

Axle-trucks and bogies. - A radial truck of the single-axle type for tramcar is guided by a central post L and side posts G, and is centralized by springs R acting through a lever P. The post L is guided in curved guides F which may be of channel or angle-iron and a spring E is interposed between lock nuts on the post and the truck frame to balance the weight of the motor C as well as part of the body. The side posts G are guided radially by curved plates J and are provided with supporting springs D. The centralizing arrangement, Fig. 4, comprises a bracket M, fixed to a transverse member K of the body, which is provided with a pivot to carry a lever P which is connected at one end to the truck by an anchor link N and at the other end is provided with a rod connected to a block S to which two springs R are attached. The other end of the springs R are fixed so that movement of the truck will be resisted by one or other of the springs. Specifications 19714/04, 9775/08, and 13548/13 are referred to.
