Abstract

273,483. Lagruta, A. June 26, 1926. Moulding wheel tyres.- Solid tyres are moulded on a series of radial cores 17 which are passed through openings in a metal base band and which on removal leave a series of air pockets 16 separated by rubber divisions 23, by which the tyre can be secured to a metal rim 20. The cores are built up of sections 17 and 18 which can be separated for removal. Metal stiffening rings may be placed in the mould before moulding and the tyre moulded to them, or the tyre may be directly moulded on to a metal rim having apertures through which the removable cores are passed.
