Abstract

266,885. Krusemark, F. A. Feb. 8, 1926. Moulding wheel tyres.-Pneumatic tyres having ventilated puncture-resisting treads as described in Specification 267,678 are formed in moulds comprising upper and lower portions 1, 9, and a core carrying mould ring section 17 removable therefrom, the other ends of the core members 18 being positioned either by grooves in the opposed mould member or by grooves in a separate ring 19. The tread mould section 21 is formed in three parts with inclined portions 23, 25 to coact with corresponding portions on the core rings and main mould parts respectively to press and maintain the parts in correct moulding positions and also a lug 26 which is engaged between the main mould parts. A recess 27 is provided in the lower main mould so that the tread ring may be slid back after removal of the upper mould to free the core rings. Open recesses may be provided for the core ring in both mould parts so that they may be easily removed and a separate tread ring mould may be omitted.
