Tamping-machines. -In cement block &c. machines of the type involving a camoperated stamp, the machine framing consists of a one-piece closed framework supporting the stamp and the driving gear and the stamp is guided in closed onepiece guide-boxes removably mounted in transverse supports. As shown, the machine frame b comprises a one-piece casting and is securely bolted to the bed a. The frame b supports the shaft g carrying the lifting- cam h and is formed with a lower and upper transverse member housing guide boxes c, d, for the stamp e. A slot f is provided in the lower member for the withdrawal and insertion of the stamps, as shown in Fig. 6, the boxes c, d being first removed.
