Abstract
1443561 Mould linings W PICARD K PICARD and J PICARD 14 Aug 1973 [18 Aug 1972] 38339/73 Headings B5A Linings for press moulds to be used for producing artificial stones comprise a first part of plates 7, 8, Fig. 2 and a second pair of plates 5, 6 transverse to the first and disposed within them and defining therewith a substantially parallelepipedic space, the upper edges of the plates of the second pair having a recess and each of the plates of the first pair having a recess adjacent each plate of the other pair, the recesses receiving the edge of the bench plate 2 surrouning the mould. The cavities may also be defined by a vertically lower punch (4, Fig. 1, not shown) which also acts as ejector and a stationary upper counter punch (3). As shown in Fig. 3, the corner of plate 10 is formed with a recess 10a/6, and the upper edge of plate 11 is formed with recess 11a/b for engaging projection 12c of bench plate 12 formed by recess 12a/b therein. The plates may be superficially hardened and may be wear-resistant steel, e.g. chrome steel. The second set of plates may be formed of two plates bolted together (Fig. 4-5, not shown). The recesses may be of various shapes, e.g. stepped (e.g. Fig. 11, not shown) and the plates may be held by magnets (36, Fig. 14, not shown).
