Abstract

1318195 Moulding thermoplastie articles RYFORD Ltd 20 July 1970 [17 Sept 1969] 45760/69 Heading B5A An article 10a, e.g. a relay buffer block, having an end portion 11a with one or more recesses 14a, is moulded by three dies 20, 30, 40, the die 20 having a cavity 21 with exchangeable inserts 22 to mould the entire portion 11a, and being arranged to move with respect to the portion along an axis A-B, and the dies 30, 40 being arranged to mould the portion 10a and to move with respect to that portion along an axis C-D transverse to the axis A-B. The die 40 includes rods 42 to form bores in the portion 10a. The dies 30, 40 can separate in a direction perpendicular to the side faces of the portion 10a. The rods 42 can be disposed in the die 30, or one can be fitted in each die 30, 40. Cavities can be formed in the portion 10a. The dies can be arranged to produce a plurality of the articles.
