Abstract
1,226,329. Multi-part blow-mould. TENNANTS CONSOLIDATED Ltd. 4 Dec., 1968 [7 Dec., 1967], No. 55807/67. Heading B5A. A multi-part blow-mould for blow-moulding of plastics comprises at least one part which is composed of a plurality of plates of sufficient thickness and strength to withstand stresses during moulding, secured to one another by bolts extending through holes in the plates, there being a plurality of holes in at least one of the plates so as to alter the size and shape of the mould part by a different choice of holes. Preferably all parts are so constituted. The plates may be flat and secured perpendicular to one another to define a rectangular mould or may be curved secured together to define a cylindrical mould. At least one insert may be provided in the mould, against or spaced from the inner surface thereof, to modify the shape or appearance of the article or even to define the entire moulding surface, in which case, a cooling fluid may be passed between the mould plates and inserts.
