Abstract

Circulating fluids through materials.-In an apparatus for dyeing hat bodies, the, concial mould 1 supporting the bodies a forms a bottom for a bell container 2, the mould and. the bell being detachably secured to a cup-member 3 having a tangential inlet 4 connected to the pump and an outlet 5 draining away to an open vat which mav be heated directly or indirectly by steam. The bell 2 may be lifted 'by overhead tackle, enabling the bodies or mould to be changed. To ensure evenness in dyeing, the perforations x in the mould are spaced further apart, and may be made smaller, towards the base. The bodies a may be pressed on the mould by a ring 13 adjustably carried on pivoted rods 14. A number of containers emptying into one vat may be so connected to a distributor fed from one pump, that any container may be put out of action. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 248,359.
