Valves and cocks, arrangements and applications of.-In a gas-heated self-feeding water boiler of the kind in which the water passes through an outer shell 1 to an inner boiling chamber and in which a valve 6 in the gas supply conduit 5 of the burner 11 is operated by a stem 7 from the handle 8 of the water tap 9 so as to be fully open when boiling water is being drawn off and to be at byepass when the tap 9 is closed, a thermostatically controlled valve 14, adapted to open when the temperature of the water falls below a predetermined minimum, is provided in a pipe 12 connected to the conduit 5 on either side of the valve 6. The casing of the valve 14 is preferably secured to the outer shell 1 near the feed water entry. The pipe 12 is provided with a tap 13. The main gas tap 3 is fitted with a pilot burner 4.
