Abstract

Thermostats.-A gas valve for controlling the temperature of a hot water urn &c. is operated by a thermostatic capsule in contact with the urn side the valve being pressed against the capsule by an adjustable spring. A disc valve 15 is normally urged away from its seat 11 by a spring 17 encircling a sleeve portion 16 of the valve, which is guided bv a spigot 14 integral with an adjusting screw 13. Expansion of a capsule 18 in contact with the urn side 6 presses the valve towards its seat to cut off a gas passage between concentric chambers 9, 10, respectively in communication with the gas inlet and outlet 7, 8. A by-pass aperture in the wall separating the chambers is controllable bv the coned end of a screw member carried by the outer wall of the casing.
