Abstract

270,308. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. April 27, 1926, [Convention date]. Azo dyes of a pronounced mordant character, dyeing wool in the single-bath chroming process in olive-green to greenish-black shades of exceptional fastness to washing, fulling and potting, are obtained by coupling o-oxydiazo compounds of the benzene or naphthalene series, or their halogen, nitro, or sulpho derivatives, with 2: 6- dioxynaphthalene-3-carboxylic acid. The manufacture of dyestuffs from the following diazo components is described in examples :-2-aminophenol-4-sulphonic acid, 4-chlor-2-aminophenol- 6-sulphonic acid, and 4-nitro-2-aminophenol. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use as diazo components of 4-nitro-2-aminophenol-6-sulphonic acid. and 2-amino-4-chlor-6-nitrophenol. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
