Abstract

274,823. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. July 24, 1926, [Convention date]. Right to Patent relinquished. Azo dyes are obtained by coupling any diazo compound, particularly a diazo compound of the benzene or naphthalene series, with an N-dioxydialkyl-derivative of an aromatic amine. In an example, a dyestuff is obtained by coupling diazotized p-nitraniline with dioxydiethylaniline. The dyestuffs from diazotized 3:4: 5-trichloraniline and dioxydiethylaniline, diazotized p-nitraniline and dioxydiethyl-m-toluidine and diazotized 2 : 4- dinitraniline and dioxydiethyl-m-toluidine are mentioned. The products dye acetate silk. 3-(dioxydiethyl)-amino-1-methylbenzene is obtained by heating m-toluidine with ethylenechlorhydrin and anhydrous sodium carbonate.
