Abstract

268,431. Metallisation, Ltd., and Cozens, F. G. Dec. 31, 1925. Burners, mounting.-In an apparatus for carrying out the process described in Specification 28001/12 and more particularly of the kind described in Specification 25132/13, the driving mechanism and the spraying nozzle are mounted on opposite ends of a column and the nozzle is pivotally mounted so that it can be adjusted relatively to the axis of the column up to an angular extent of about 180‹ without interfering with the feed of the substance to be sprayed. The roller case A forms with the nozzle B a radial head which is pivotally attached to the upper part of the worm case F by a bolt 1 secured in position by a nut 2. The case A is provided with feeding wheels or rollers 3, 4 for the substance 5 to be sprayed. The air is passed through a connection 21 and the gases through connections 20,22 and both pass through a controlling valve D and then through outlets 23 - - 25 and flexible extensions to connections 26 - - 28 leading to the rozzle B. The gase from the connections 26, 28 pass through passages 30 into the mixing chamber of the nozzle, the air passing into this chamber through holes communicating with a small annular recess formed between the adjoining faces of the nozzle B and the head A which are secured together by a bolt, the air flowing from the connection 28 by holes 32, 33 into this recess.
