Abstract

266,411. Salerni, P. M. Oct. 23, 1925. Razors.-A razor blade a has a resiliently-urged guard c for raising the edge of the blade from a sharpening surface when pressure is removed. The blade a is hinged to the guard c on pivots c<1>. To retain the guard in midposition a spring-pressed ball d engages a hole c<2> in the guard extension. A shaft a<2> working in the blade is attached to a spring-urged rod b<2> within the handle b. The blade is retained in shaving position by the end A of the handle co-operating with the back of the blade, and the guard, is held by an attached pin c<3> engaging a half-collar a<3> on the shaft a<2>. In a modification an ordinary razor blade carries spring arms for lifting the edge.
