Closure members.-In a valve member comprising a disc element 6, a gasket or valve washer 8, and a nut 9 for securing the washer to the disc, the nut is formed with a cylindrical face 11 adapted to fit the walls of the valve seat passage 4 and a downwardly converging face 12. In a modification the cylindrical part 11 is formed on the washer 8.
