Loud-speakers; diaphragms.- Relates to loud-speakers of the kind described in Specifications 258,502 and 263,481. According to the invention, the soundboard 2 surrounding the central light, stiff diaphragm 1 is made of an artificial wood substitute, i.e. a self-sustaining fibrous material resembling wood in strength. Materials known as " Nu-Wood " and " Insulite," and the material known by the Registered Trade Mark " Celotex," are mentioned as examples of suitable materials for the sound-board. The soundboard may have a pair of transverse feet or legs attached to its periphery to form a support for the loud-speaker, and may also have a slot to form a hand grip for moving it about.
