274,847. Hopkins Corporation, (Assignees of Hopkins, M. C.). July 24, 1926, [Convention date]. Loud-speakers; diaphragms. -Relates to loud-speakers more particularly of the kind described in Specifications 258,502, 263,481 and 265,908. According to the invention, the sound-board 2 surrounding the central light, stiff diaphragm 1 is made of cork. A rod 5 connects the apex of the diaphragm 1 with the electromagnetic mechanism in the casing 7, which is attached to a spider 8 secured by screws 9 to the sound-board. The speaker may be supported on a stand or bracket secured to the spider.
