Loud-speakers; d i a - phragms.-A loud-speaker of the kind having a large diaphragm attached to a surrounding resonator or sounding-boa.rd has a fibrous ornamentation covering at least a part of the sounding board. As shown in Figs. 1 and 4, the sounding board 7, to which a large conical diaphragm 1 is attached, is ornamented by a paper moulding 9. In a modification, Fig. 6, two concentric hollow paper mouldings 23, 24 are applied to the sounding board 18, the edge of which is stiffened by a wooden rim 19 and beading 22. A suitable material for the sounding board is three-ply fir or spruce. Specification 16602/14, [Class 40 (ii), Phonographs &c.], is referred to.
