Spray evaporators.- In drying milk or other liquid by atomizing a jet of liquid by a jet of hot air or gas, a jet of liquid issuing under pressure from a nozzle E meets a jet of air from a nozzle I at a point H remote from the nozzles. The atomized liquid is carried through an opening O into a settling chamber. Either or both nozzles may be adjustably mounted on a screw-threaded rod A, B. The nozzle I may be elongated, and a number of nozzles E, some of which may discharge in opposite directions, be used in conjunction with it.
