263,683. Gill, H. A., (Maschinenfabrik Sack Ges.) July 1, 1926. Rolling. - Universal rolling mills particularly for tube rolling comprise two sets of rolls a, b shown set at an angle of 45‹ to each other, between which is located the main gear wheel c driven by spur teeth g on its periphery and provided with toothed flanges d and e mounted on the side to drive bevel wheels f mounted on the shafts of each roller. In Fig. 3 the central gear wheel c drives spur wheels n on each end of the shaft of which is carried a bevel wheel p to drive one of the rolls of each set of rolls. The gear wheel c and spur wheel n may be replaced by worm wheels.
