Abstract

238,840. Reichwald, V. B., (Maschinenfabrik Waldau). July 7, 1925. Meshing screws. - In screw pumps of the type having twin screws with threads in mesh, the screws or their shafts carry thrust rings or discs which engage each other to prevent any relative axial movement between the two rotating members. As shown each screw consists of a right-handed and a lefthanded thread on parallel shafts 1, 2, geared together by wheels 6, 7. On the shaft 2 or the screw 5 is fixed the disc 8 which engages with flanges on the disc secured to the shaft 1. This latter disc may consist of two adjustable parts 9, 10 with flanges to prevent any relative movement between the discs. One of the gear wheels, for example the wheel 7, may have flanges 11 between which the gear wheel 6 engages.
