Abstract

Rolling-machines.-In dough &c. rolling machines, the adjustable roller A, which is driven from the fixed roller B through a train of gear-wheels, is arranged to swing about the axis of one of the intermediate wheels. The roller B is journaled in side cheeks C, and is operatively connected through gears E, F with the driving wheel G. The roller A which is mounted for rotation between two levers 4, journaled on pins 5 carried by the cheeks C, is driven from the roller B through the gear-wheels 6, 7, 7a, 8, the gear 6 being carried by the roaler B. The upper roller A is moved relatively to the roller B by swinging the levers 4 about the axis of the pins 5 by means of mechanism located below the level of the rollers. Pivoted to the outer arms 4 are screw threaded scckets 9 engaged by screws 10 supported in brackets secured to the side cheeks C and operatively connected with a crossehaft 12 by means of gears 13, 14. Rotation of the crank 15 which is connected to the shaft 12 through chain and sprocket gearing will cause the levers 4 and the rotler A to rise or fall according to the direction of rotation.
