Abstract

Electric hot-plates. - Relates to heating elements for cooking stoves wherein the resistance element d<2> is carried by a plurality of notched supports c is removably mounted in a flanged tray or reflector b and threaded on securing rods e. The notches or slots c<1> are inclined and provided with front and rear projections, the resistance being held in position by refractory rods f passing along the slots. The flanges of the tray may be notched at b<2> to take the bars c, the rods e passing through turned over portions b<1> of the flanges. End bars c<2> with terminals c' and upstanding projections c<3> may be provided to prevent displacement of the resistance wire due to expansion. A flanged nickel plate a may be supported on the bars c or on the reflector. An additional fireclay backing or metal reflector may be provided or the tray b may be made of fireclay. A common reflector may be provided for a plurality of elements.
