Abstract
485,004. Electric radiators. ELEXCEL, Ltd., and WICKERSON, S. A. Nov. 12, 1936, No. 30942. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric radiator of the low temperature type arranged for wall mounting, comprises a heating element forming a unit with a reflector 14 and totally enclosed by two sheet metal members 8 and 9 of roughly channel section overlapping to form a box-like casing. The reflector 14 is mounted in spaced relation to the back plate 8 of the casing which is in turn spaced from the wall. With the addition of a moulding 18 the heater may replace a, skirting board. Alternatively the casing may be made of trapezoidal section and may then replace a picture rail. Hooks for pictures would then be provided on the heater. The spacing of the reflector, back plate, and wall are effected by bumped up projections 4 and 7 on the reflector and plate. The reflector may be secured to the back plate by spot welding or by screws. Several heating elements may be mounted in a common enclosure. The heating resistance is held in slots 3 in mica plates 16 threaded on a rod 15. The plates are spaced by sleeves 23 and are prevented from turning round the rod by engagement with the reflector.
