262,678. Dressler Tunnel Ovens, Ltd., and Vermorcken, O. Aug. 19, 1926. Tunnel ovens.-In a tunnel oven of the kind having a combustion chamber at each side for heating air for circulation amongst the goods, the passage and side walls 1, 1<a> of each combustion chamber are built of refractory brickwork in one with the oven structure, and are surmounted by a dome or vault of ogival shape formed by curved plates 8, 8<a> of thin refractory material. Escape of gases into the oven is prevented by jointing material 9, and gaps are left in building the combustion chamber to allow for longitudinal expansion. The air to be heated circulates through passages 4 in the brickwork base and the space 5 between the wall 1 and the adjacent side wall of the oven.
