Abstract

A mixture of fuel and air is distributed to the space between the bell and the inner wall by ducts 7. The floor of the furnace has two chambers 8 with impervious bottom walls and pervious top walls to which fuel and air are supplied by ducts 11. The fuel/air mixture passes through the pervious walls and burns over a large area.
