Abstract
262,093. Compagnie Industrielle des Moteurs Ó Explosion, and Perrier, D. Nov. 30, 1925, [Convention date]. Density separators.-The separator described in Specification 230,848 is modified by the addition of concentric ribs 10 - - 13 in the space below the distributing chamber 7. The oil or other liquid to be purified enters by the pipe 3 and passes into the chamber 7, where it is subjected to centrifugal force. Some of the impurities remain on the wall of the chamber 7 and the liquid passes through holes 50 into the chamber 35 outside the rib 13. Separated matter may be taken through the holes 19 in the base; the liquid passes through the chambers 34, 33, 32 in succession, and the purified liquid is finally withdrawn from the central chamber 38. Impurities may be drawn off from any intermediate chamber, as for instance by the holes 53. The ribs 10 - - 13 are shown integral with the lower plate of the apparatus, but in a modification alternate ribs are integral with the top and bottom plates. In another modification the liquid leaves the chamber 7 by holes 54, Fig. 3, near the centre and is then spread outwards by the plate 55.
