Abstract

201,907. Marx, A. Aug. 3, 1922, [Convention date]. Oils, purifying.-Oils are purified by combined electric cataphoresis and centrifugal force. A rotary drum 1 mounted on a shaft 3 has internal radial vanes 2, the drum and vanes being provided with insulating packing 8 - - 10. The drum 1 is connected to one pole of an electric source, while a rotary or fixed cylinder 6 suspended therein is connected to the other pole. The fluid to be treated enters continuously by a pipe 12 and fills the annular space between the drum 1 and the cylinder 6. The impurities are deposited on the drum or the cylinder. The purified fluid is discharged from the top of the drum.
