Abstract

212,684. Kemp, J. W. Jan. 9, 1923. Current motors ; screw motors.-A water-wheel d is mounted on a horizontal axis in a pontoon or the like having a coned intake h, Fig. 4. In a modification the portion of the intake above the wheel axis is dispensed with, while in a further modification a screw motor having its axis longitudinal of the pontoon replaces the wheel d. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, the wheel h is on a vertical axis, the cone intake l<1> directing the flow to one half only of the wheel. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 6350/86 ; 24664/98 and 4670/07, [both in Class 69, Hydraulic machinery &c.]. 150,822, and 176,933.
