Abstract

Portable hand-pumps. - A tyre pump comprises a socket 6 on the barrel, adapted to receive a part of the tyre valve, a restricted air passage being formed in a plug 10 detachably screwed into the socket. The inner part of the socket is bored to a larger diameter than the outer part forming a shoulder between which and the plug is located a washer 12 of rubber &c. surrounding an axial hollow boss 13 on the plug.
