[Class 135.] A tyre valve has the member e with axial and radial passages covered by an indiarubber sleeve g connected to the nipple or adaptor j by a ball- and-socket joint h, l. The adaptor has exterior right-handed threads for attachment to the pump connection and left-handed threads for screwing into the casing to press the conical shoulder on the member e against a corresponding shoulder on the casing. The diameter of the nipple j and its cap may be smaller than that of the valve body to allow of withdrawal through the wheel rim without disassembling.
