Abstract

309,679. Topete, S. Vidal-. Feb. 24, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Air tubes and chambers.-Sectional pneumatic tyres of the kind in which the sections 3 are infatable through a common connecting tube 4, have transverse plugs 5 disposed across the tube and connected together by a flexible coupling member 12 which can be moved axially within the tube to displace the plugs laterally, as shown in Fig. 4, to allow deflation. The tube is connected to a protruding stem 13 having a screw cap 26 and an inner screw head 19 which is attached to the end 22 of the flexible operating member 12, Fig. 6, and by which it is operated. The plugs are provided with non-return valves 8, and the supply tube has a coiled helix support 11 and is vulcanized to the inner radial circumference of the sectional tube to prevent radial displacement. According to the Provisional Specification, the plugs are solid and valve openings controlled by a rubber band are provided between the sections and the inflation tube. The inflation stem is also provided with a rubber sleeve where it is attached to the tyre casing.
