Abstract

154,525. Burn, R. S. Aug. 17, 1920. Portable hand-pumps. - A tyre pump comprises a barrel a, Fig. 2, formed with an internal fold b to provide a chamber for a rubber gland c, which is pushed over the tyre valve. The gland abuts against the fold and is held in position by a metal or like cap h, which may be screwed into or connected by a bayonetjoint to the barrel. The gland may be secured in the chamber by an adhesive substance, and the chamber is preferably bent at an angle to the barrel.
