Abstract

174,870. Powell, G. F., and Barr, J. March 8, 1921. Tyre valves.-A tyre valve has a piston-valve member 10 adapted to work on a cylindrical extension 6 on a plug 5 screwed into the end of the valve casing 1 and provided with axial and transverse passages 7, 8. The valve member is screwed to a spindle 11 and is tapered at its outer end to engage a washer 9 secured between the plug 5 and the casing and at the other end has cross grooves 12 to permit the passage of air when the valve is open. The dust cap comprises an external cap 13 adapted to screw on to the casing and an inner member 14 swivelled to it by means of a pin 15 and provided with a washer 19 located between inner and outer flanges 16, 17.
