Abstract

Bakers' ovens.-In bakers' oven conveyer apparatus of the kind comprising endless chains moving along a circuitous course and carrying plates, which are pivoted thereto at one end, so that they can be maintained continuously in an horizontal position, hooks 13 or like catch members are provided to engage the free ends of the plates 12 as they are passing from one course of the conveyer to the next. The hooks are mounted on a shaft driven from and at the same angular speed as the shafts of the chain wheels 4, the direction of rotation being either the same or opposite, and they are spaced apart a distance slightly greater than the width of a plate. The inturned ends of the hook pass from above to beneath a plate through a space 17 formed by cutting away the corners of the plate. At the ends where the free ends of the plates project beyond the chain wheels the hook shafts are situated beyond the conveyer, and at these ends the lower guides for the plates are bent upwards. The pins by which the plates are pivoted to the chains are free to move along the pivot links.
