Abstract

260,073. Strauss, J. B. Aug. 19, 1925. Anchoring.-An airship mooring mast comprises a tower along which a circular platform 10 can be moved up and down, a ring 14, to which the airship can be secured, being movable around the platform. The platform 10 has guide rollers 11, 12 moving along the corner pieces of the tower and the ring 14 has rollers 15 running upon the periphery of the platform. A conical socket 16 on the ring 14 receives a conical block 18 on the airship to which the main haulage cable 19 is secured. A catch 20 may hold the two parts in engagement. A second platform 26 similar to the platform 10 but without the ring 14 is provided for raising and lowering passengers. The platforms are independently moved by cables led to motor winches at the foot of the tower.
