Abstract

160,027. Harrison, J., (Representative of Harrison, C.). Dec. 31, 1919. Masts.-In a telescopic mast for boats, ships, aeroplanes, seaplanes, portable wireless installations, &c., three tubes 2, 3, 4 are each provided with a pulley at the bottom 5, 6, 7. Two collars 8, 9 are arranged at the top of the outer fixed tube 2 and carry sheaves 11, 12. Pulleys 14, 15 are mounted at the top of the tube 3. A cable 10 passes into the base of the tube 2, around pulleys 5, 12, 11 and 6 in succession, and is fixed to the collar 8. A second cable 10<a> is secured at both ends to the collar 8 and passes round the pulleys 14, 7, 15. The mast is extended by pulling the main cable 10.
