1,032,434. Scaffolding for repairing aircraft. AVIATSIONNY ZAVOD GRAZHDANSKOVO VOZDOOSHNOGO FLOTA. Sept. 13, 1963 [Jan. 11, 1963], No. 1416/63. Heading EIS. A scaffolding for men working on an aircraft has movable sections 4, 5 which can be moved away, e.g. by winches, to allow an aircraft to enter the scaffolding. The scaffolding comprises stanchions 17 supporting various platforms surrounding the aircraft and a bridge 7 which runs on rails 8 and passes over the fuselage. A lift 6 is set in platform PF1, and hoists 10 are mounted on platforms PF3, which pass over the wings. Platforms 53, 53<SP>1</SP> mounted on wheels and guided by guides on stanchions of the sections 3, are movable under the platforms PF5 near the wing leading edges for servicing the underside of the wings. The movable sections 4 and 5 are mounted on castors or retractable feet, the sections 4 being adapted to be secured to platforms PF3 by screw connections, and the section 5 comprising apparatus for supporting the fin, tailplane and elevators. The stanchions 17 may be extended upwardly to support covering material such as sheet metal or transparent synthetic resin sheet, and when thus enclosed, the scaffolding may be heated by steam or hot air.
