Locks, permutation, for the gear levers of motor-cars comprise inner rings 18. 19 with projections to take into grooves on the lever 1. and outer rings 22, 23 with a lost motion connection by pin 30 and slot 31. The lost motion gives different displacements of the rings according to direction of motion.
