Abstract

Levers and rods, locking.-In locking-devices of the kind comprising a hand-operated spring bolt which engages a recess in a rotatable member to prevent its rotation, the bolt 1 is operated through a cable 11 from a sliding plunger 12 the operating knob 13 of which rides in an L-shaped slot. The plunger is fitted with a flat stem 12 normally engaging a recess in a member 18 rotatable by means of a key. By rotating the member 18 through a right angle to the position shown, the plunger 12 may be held in its lower position and the withdrawal of the spring bolt prevented. The device may be used to prevent operation of the gear lever of a motor-vehicle or to other machinery.
