Magnetic instruments. - An electromagnetic sound reproducer comprises casings 1, 2 secured by bolts 3 so as to clamp an armature member 10 therebetween and housing pole pieces 6, 7 which carry coils 8, 9 and are secured to permanent magnets 4, 5 mounted adjacent each of the casings respectively. The armature 10, Fig. 4, is apertured at 11, 12, 14. the wide band portion 16 being acted upon by the pole pieces whilst the narrower band portion 15 is provided with side portions 17, 18 adapted to bend so as to grip the hook-shaped end 20 of a rod 21, the other end of which is connected to a sound-reproducing diaphragm.
