Abstract

257,190. Borel, J. Oct. 31, 1925, [Convention date]. Lighting, systems of; vehicle lamps. - A vehicle is provided, in addition to the ordinary head lamps, with lamps 1 arranged with their axes vertical and with reflectors 2 for throwing light down on the road in all directions, each lamp 1 being carried from a head lamp bracket, wing 9, radiator cap 10 or other fixed part by a telescopic or other arm 6 pivoted on a bracket 6a so as to be movable in a horizontal plane. The lamps 1 may be secured by a swivel joint 7 to the arm 6 to permit of movement also in a vertical plane so that they can be used for inspection purposes. The reflector may be shaped so as to give an oblong or oval area of illumination, or the lamp may have an additional lamp bulb for throwing rays towards the front of the vehicle. The lamp may have a frosted front glass.
