Abstract
252,806. Barry, E. L. March 9, 1925. Vehicle lamps; lighting, systems of.-A fixed side lamp for throwing a beam of light over a wide angle to the side of a vehicle comprises a horizontally elongated casing k, the back of the casing being curved in horizontal cross-section, or shaped like a flat bottomed boat, and the casing being of rectangular shape with rounded ends in front view. The lamp may be arranged on one or both sides of the vehicle and embedded in the coach body or valance, or fixed to the running- board, or to the top of the vehicle. The lamp casing may form part of the metal panel work of the vehicle. When lamp bulbs l<2> are used as .an illuminant, they may be arranged side by side on concave reflectors r<2>, or on the lamp casing, or a single bulb may be used in conjunction with one or more auxiliary reflectors, such as a centrally arranged convex reflector.
