Ruling-machines ; tripping-arrangements. - In a disc ruling-machine, the ruler shaft 1 is mounted in bearings 3, 10, the bearing 10 at the end remote from the operator comprising a part with concave surfaces and a convex part fitting therein so that the shaft, when released at the opposite end, can be rocked and withdrawn. As shown, the bearing 10 is provided with concave surfaces 5 to receive a convex block in which the shaft 1 rotates, while the bearing 3 is releasably held in place by means of a hinged cover 22 and fixing screws 22<1>. Screws 23 are provided for lateral adjustment of the bearings 3 and 10, and shoulders 6 are formed on the shaft 1 to limit its movement into the bearings. For tripping purposes, the bearings are arranged on arms 4, 4' fixed to a shaft 7 by means of screws 20, 21 passing through brackets 16 fixed on the shaft, this arrangement allowing a slight angular adjustment of the arms. The arm 4 is adjustable along the shaft 7 and is held in position by rings 9.
