Ruling-machines. - In a ruling-machine, the controlling rollers l, Fig. 1, adapted to engage a cam k mounted on the shaft d of the impression cylinder a, so as to lift the ruling-discs f off the sheet when desired, are adjustable in two directions independently, in a plane perpendicular to their pivotal axes g. Each roller l is carried by an mm m, a slot m<1> in which engages a squared end g<1> on the spindle g and is adjustable with respect thereto by ,a screwed spindle o. A squared part l<1> on the end of the shaft of the roller l engages a second slot m<2> in the arm m perpendicular to the slot m<1>, and is adjusted therein by a screwed spindle p. The cam k is fixed to a ring r, Fig. 2, adjustably mounted on a disc t secured to the shaft d, and is provided. with an adjustable part k<1> which is set so as to prevent contact of the ruling-discs with the uncovered parts of the cylinder. Where the cylinder a carries more than one sheet, a cam k is provided corresponding to each sheet. Graduations are provided on the members n, p to facilitate their adjustment.
