Toothed wheels.-To adjust for unequal wear in the blades of a decorticating-machine the ends of the shaft are carried in independent selfaligning ball-bearings 4 mounted in eccentric rings 2 which are rotatable bv a worm 8 and a toothed segment 7. Accurate adjustment is ensured by taking up back-lash, and either the worm or the toothed segment is divided. The worm may consist of two parts 11, 12, the part 12 being axially adjustable, and hold against the fixed part by a nut 13. Thin plates may be inserted between the parts 11, 12. Alternatively, the toothed segment may be divided in its plane of rotation, and the parts connected in such a way as to allow relative rotary movement.
