Abstract
255,321. Babcock & Wilcox, Ltd., and Lennox, A. Jan. 5, 1926. Rotary tipplers.-Top clamping bars l, l<1> and a side support i at one side or at each side of the wagon are moved to engage the wagon by winding the two ends of a single rope d on opposite sides of the drum b. As shown the rope d leads from the top of the drum over sheaves f, h, k, m - - u, and back to the under side of the drum, so that as the rope is wound in, the bars l, l<1> are lowered into contact with the top of the wagon and arms i<1> pivoted to the tippler rings are then raised until the side support i engages the wagon. The bars l, l<1> are raised again by ropes c<1> wound on a drum c on the shaft of the drum b. When two side supports are used, the sheaves n, q are replaced by sheaves corresponding to h and t. The drums b, c are actuated by an electric motor through spur and non-reversing worm-gearing. The ends of the bars l, l<1> may be provided with rollers running on vertical guides.
