Alternating-current induction machines.-The asynchronous polyphase machine of the parent Specification is started by connecting the terminals of the transformer secondary winding in the condenser circuit to the line, the connections shown in the prior Specification being subsequently established. If the ratio of secondary to primary turns is too great, connection may be made to tappings on the secondary winding; if the ratio is too small, additional windings, used only at starting, may be connected in series.
