251,931. Felten & Guilleaume Carlswerk Akt.-Ges. May 8, 1925, [Convention date]. Insulating coverings for cables and conductors; insulating-materials.-In the manufacture of insulating material for use with high tension junction boxes &c. of the kind consisting of layers of paper impregnated with substances of different dielectric constant so as to grade the insulation in accordance with the strength of the electric field, the paper used is subjected to strong pressure. As impregnating materials, use may be made of solutions of organic substances such as artificial resins or phenol resins and the dielectric constant graded by grading the strength of the solution. The degree of pressure applied to the paper layers may also be graded.
